Myopia Control CET Event – Andy Sanders

Berkshire LOC and the attendees would like to extend our thanks to Andy Sanders from Hoya for a great and informative CET session tonight regarding Myopia Control.

Details of the session are below:

The lecture covers the prevalence of Myopia and associated eye conditions and the different modalities that may help slow its progression from lifestyle changes to various ocular interventions.
The talk covers the myths and efficacy and related to different interventions and also the caveats.
Andrew will also discuss how to discuss myopia interventions in practice to ensure the best possible outcomes and understanding so that expectations can be met.

This lecture has received the following GOC CET accreditation and attendees will receive 1 point.

About Andrew Sanders:

Andrew qualified as a Dispensing Optician in 1987 and has over 37 years of experience in both manufacturing and technical dispensing optics.

Andrew has worked for large optical chains, smaller regional groups and independent high street practices.

Andrew’s current role as UK Professional Services Manager for Hoya UK involves him in a variety of support, management, and training roles. He is not only responsible for in-house company training but the creation and delivery of motivational seminars on lens product, prescription, and task analysis to a wide group of professionals both in the UK and Mainland Europe.

Andrew was a regular lecturer and tutor at Hoya’s European facility in Budapest and is currently chair of the FMO standards Panel and FMO lens focus group.
Andrew has a keen interest in this subject matter which has been a source of debate for many years.
