Further to the update sent last week, please see the attached from PES. Please can you complete the expression of interest form so that PES can understand if the service is viable going forward if an improved fee and single data entry can be secured.

Royal Berkshire Foundation Trust cataract post-op service update

11th April 2022

Dear colleagues,

Discharge into this service from the three Trust sites will be paused with immediate effect, in order for discussions around the future of the service to take place.

We would request that practices endeavour to arrange post-op appointments for as many patients who have already been discharged into the service as possible.

Further information regarding the interim pathway for post-op patients will be provided by the LOC in due course.

We would be grateful if all practices could fill out the form HERE irrespective of whether you currently offer, or have ever offered the service. It is important that we have a response from all practices to inform conversations with the Trust going forward regarding the viability of the service if we are able to secure the improvements that practices have asked for, including an increase in tariff and the removal of the need to enter data into the Medisoft portal.

We would like to thank all practices and colleagues who have provided this service over the last year.
