Frimley Trust Post-Cataract Service now live.

Dear colleagues,

Frimley Trust will be transferring patients through Opera for post-operative assessment as of this week.

  • Please check your Opera practice dashboard every day to contact and book in patients that have been transferred to your practice for post-operative assessment.
  • Patients will be transferred directly to your practice through Opera, there is no facility for the practice to manually add patients to Opera within this pathway.
  • The slides from the launch event are attached.
  • Please visit our help pages for information on the pathway and protocols for the Post Cataract Service,  how to accept and book a patient and how to complete the clinical assessment and send the outcome information or referral to the Trust: Cataract Services – OPERA (optom-referrals.org)
  • Please remember that while most patients will choose to be seen at their referring practice, if the patient has been referred by a non-accredited practice they will be asked to choose an alternative accredited practice to attend for their post-operative assessment.
  • Please only reject patients back to the surgical provider if:

We would encourage all practices who refer patients to Frimley Trust for cataract surgery to become accredited to provide the service so that their referred patients can be transferred back to them for post-operative assessment.

·      If the practice is not yet accredited, there is information on how to get started in the attached presentation and here: Getting Started – OPERA (optom-referrals.org)

Help is available!

Please search our help centre, use the blue help bubble on the Opera log in page or email hello@refferal.support.

Kind regards,
