Welcome to Berkshire Local Optical Committee
Berkshire LOC is the statutory body set up by the NHS to support all optical staff delivering NHS services under a GOS contract in Berkshire.
The main role of the LOC is to work with local NHS commissioners to make community eye care services accessible to patients and cost effective for the NHS. The objective of this website is to provide eye care practitioners, other health care professionals and the public with information about all aspects of eye care provision available within Berkshire.

Meeting Dates
From 1st April 2025, practices will have 6 months from the date the glasses are supplied by the optical practice to make a claim for HES voucher payment, please see the update below from the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust:
