All Optegra Hospitals operate on an average Referral to Treatment Time (RTT) of only 4-6 weeks from the moment we receive the referral.

We provide the following treatments and pathways:

• • • NHS Cataract treatment
    • NHS YAG
    • Private Vision Correction.

Approximately 80% of NHS Post-operative checks are sent out into the community; we do this by either sending the patient back to the referring practice via the Primary Eyecare Opera platform or for those practices not on Opera we provide our own post-operative care scheme in which a practice can choose to accredit themselves to receive their referred patients back without onboarding onto a referral platform.

We can receive NHS cataract referrals through several channels such as directly to us via email, GP and E-referral.

Optegra patient Journey:

1. 1. 1. Referral sent to Optegra and received.
      2. Patient is contacted within 3 working days for an over the phone Pre-Op Assessment.
      3. If Pre-op is successful, an Initial consultation is booked on average within 2 weeks.
      4. Consultation and necessary checks are carried out by the hospital optometrist.
      5. If consultation is successful surgery is booked on average for 2-3 weeks’ time to allow for a cooling off period for the patient.
      6. Surgery conducted by our resident Ophthalmic surgeon.
      7. 4–6-week post-Op email is sent out to community via Opera or via our own post op scheme
      8. Post-Op practice books patient in
      9. Post-Op carried out by community Optometrist.
      10. On receipt of post-op report Optegra pays a £43 post-op fee to practice, via Opera invoice or direct invoice from store.
      11. A referral for the 2^nd eye can be sent at the same time as the 1^st post-op report if needed
