LOCSU Chair Conference: 10 June

Brent and Harrow LOC Chair Nehul Shah attended the inaugural Chair Conference on Monday 10th June.
LOCSU hosted this interactive day of leadership workshops and debates for LOC Chairs and Vice Chairs at The Wesley London Euston.
Dr Joy Tweed, an academic and trainer in corporate governance who works with the Chartered Governance Institute and other clients, led sessions on meeting facilitation, managing challenging meetings and personalities, improving LOC committee and meeting running, and leading with integrity and good governance.
Joy is a former course leader of an MSc in governance and leadership in healthcare and is currently Chair of LOCSU.
The event was created in response to feedback from LOC colleagues that they sought opportunities to network with other Chairs and access training and development to help LOC chairing responsibilities.

At the LOC’s recent F2F CPD event Mr Javad Moayedi, Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon, (BMBS, BMedSci, MRCOphthon) presented on “Cataract and postoperative complications.” Attendants pre-registered to attend via the LOC and the event was worth 3 CPD points.
