Derbyshire LOC have a fund to use for Upskilling the Optometry workforce in Derbyshire. We can support you in furthering your professional development AND keeping up with the young Graduates who are soon going to be emerging with their MScs!
In order to continue to support Secondary Care and attract new contracts for services (and retain the old ones), we need to prove that we have the work force ready to go!
In particular we are looking to support people with gaining their Higher Certificate Glaucoma andIndependent Prescribing Qualifications. These are both a significant commitment and require a Clinical Placement – but we even have a plan for that!
Also up for grabs – Prof Cert Glaucoma (which is needed for Level 2 OHT Scheme) and Prof Cert Med Ret.Both of these change the way you practice for the better and give you insight even after many years qualified.
It used to be said that IP and HIgher Cert were not useful to Community Optoms but we are on the precipice of changing that – the IP Bolt on to CUES and Level 3 Glaucoma Monitoring Pathways are under discussion. From a Career progression point of view these qualifications also open doors to other more varied areas of practice that can nicely compliment (spice up!) your days as a Community Optom.
First come first served and once the pot has gone it’s gone so why delay?
All you need to do is apply to us via email… choose and apply for your course, sign the learner declaration… and we will refund 100% of your course fee (while funds last!). This will be refunded in two parts – 50% when you confirm your place and 50% when you complete.
THERE HAS BEEN EXCEPTIONAL INTEREST IN THIS SO APPLICATIONS HAVE CLOSED. FOR THOSE WHO EXPRESSED INTEREST THEY WILL RECEIVE AN APPLICATION FORM AND THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL BE INFORMED IN MARCH.
