Integrated Care Strategy Design Event, Southampton – 28 September 2022
The LOC attended an afternoon of strategic thought and discussion to shape plans for health and wellbeing development across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
The event was attended by key partners including healthcare, commissioning, council, charity, emergency services and more.
A key topic for discussion was developing and maintaining equity of care and collaboration to achieve shared health and wellbeing goals.
Input was gathered from partners in three key areas of focus:
- Children and young people
- Mental wellbeing
- Prevention of ill-health and healthy lifestyle
- Workforce
- Digital and Data
In each of these areas the LOC highlighted how primary care optometry is either already part of the solution or has the facility to become part of the solution through collaboration, appropriate promotion of services such as GOS sight testing, use of local practice team expertise and commissioned enhanced services.
Members of the ICP (Integrated Care Partnership) team were very engaged with the LOC, identify the important place primary care optometry has within this important work and are keen to work together towards our collective goals of improved patient outcomes and a healthier Hampshire & Isle of Wight.
