BMEC accept cataract and YAG referral.

Birmingham & Midland Eye Centre (BMEC), City Hospital, Dudley Road, Birmingham B18 7QH

you can also request Sandwell (Hallam St, West Bromwich B71 4HJ) but the patient may still be seen at BMEC

The best way to make a cataract referral is directly via the Opera platform, more information here.

Otherwise referrals can be made via NHSmail to swbh.team-eyereferrals-routine@nhs.net

Or via GP on GOS 18. If you use this route make sure you are clear why you cannot refer via Opera and that the GP must action the referral.
