Lister 2nd Vaccine, Locsu And FODO News

We have 4 items for you today:

1. We have been advised that the national booking service for COVID vaccinations (https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/) will no longer be available for patient facing healthcare workers to book from 1/3/2020.

   We have not been advised of any changes to the Hertfordshire Community Trust service that we have previously sent the link and details for (HERE). 

   This will not affect arrangements for second doses, either, which will be at the same location as the first.

2. For all staff that have already had their first vaccination at Lister, we have received the following information regarding second vaccines: 

   COVID VACCINATIONS
    
   After a brief closure, the COVID-19 vaccination hub at Lister Hospital has opened its doors once again, to begin to deliver second doses of the vaccine.
    
   If you have had your first dose of vaccine at Lister, you should attend Lister for your second dose as planned. Appointments for your second dose will have been made at your first appointment.

   All staff will receive a reminder text message for their appointment for a second dose – please do keep the appointment as booked. 
   If you need to change your appointment, you will be able to cancel the appointment via the text, but to rebook, please call 0333 332 4065. 

   If any frontline health and social care staff still need to book an appointment for a first vaccine, please use this link to Hertfordshire Community Trust to choose a location close to you: https://hctbookingportal.as.me/schedule.php .  The booking system will include new vaccination sites as they become available.  

3. LOCSU’s February update is HERE, including Glaucoma statistics, Hydroxychloroquine or Chloroquine pathway and benevolent fund support for practitioners.
4. This week’s FODO news is HERE, including National Eye Health Week, Covid updates and “Get ready for IR35”.
