Corneal Topography Request, GOS Forms And, Vacancy, LOCSU And FODO News

1. 1. Contact details: corneal topography request from Watford
      In our last email we asked if there are any local optometry practices with access to corneal topography machines. Watford hospital would like to be able to refer patients for a scan (which would be paid for by the hospital), for example in situations where high astigmatism is noted on their biometry and when they need to decide if a toric lens is required.

1. 1. GOS Form Signatures 
      Further to our email last week, the DHSC has confirmed that the temporary measure whereby NHS GOS contractors state ‘COVID-19’ instead of requiring patient signatures on forms has now been extended until 30 June 2021.

      This measure was originally implemented as a COVID infection prevention control measure by removing the need for patients to handle pens in optical practices – it had been due to come to an end on 31 March 2021.
