IPC Guidance, OBVA Seminar, CET Webinar, Vacancy, New ICB CEO, LOCSU And FODO News

  1. Infection Prevention and Control Guidance 
    FODO have issued updated IPC information, including guidance from the College, HERE.
  2. Orthoptic and Binocular Vision Association Seminar
    The OBVA is running an on-line Seminar on Monday 6 December 2021. Details can be downloaded HERE. Whilst the LOC does not normally “advertise” seminars, lectures or CET where fees are payable, the OBVA is a not-for profit organisation and we feel that many of our readers may be interested in this seminar.
     
  3. CET Webinar: ‘Visual Fields: What do all those dots mean?’
    OCL are running another of their free CET webinars, presented by Ms Sally Ameen, on Monday 13th December 2021 starting at 8.00PM. They advise 1 CET Point for OOs, DOs, CLOs. Further information and the registration form can be found HERE.

  5. New CEO for Herts and West Essex Integrated Care Board (ICB)
    Dr Jane Halpin has been appointed to lead the new NHS Hertfordshire and West Essex ICB from April 2022.

    Jane is currently the Chief Executive of the three clinical commissioning groups in our area and lead officer for the Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care System.

    They say: “The new Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board will build on the strong foundations laid in recent years. The ICB will work with local government and voluntary, community and social enterprise sector partners to agree and achieve shared ambitions to improve the health and wellbeing of people and communities. It will continue the strong collaborative work between public and voluntary services that has supported Hertfordshire and west Essex’s 1.5 million residents both before and during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

  6. LOCSU News   

    Their latest newsletter can be found HERE, including a Leadership Course, “Optometry First” webinar recording, EeRS and a reminder about the Maculopathy OCT Interpretation Lecture Series / Training Module. Any points from lectures in this series completed this year will, of course, count towards the current CET cycle. Any completed next year are expected to contribute to the new CPD period.
