- MECS OSCE in Southend, Essex
Essex LOC is holding a MECS OSCE session on Sunday 22/5/2022 in Southend on Sea. They say: “We have had a few Optometrists drop out at the last minute so there is limited availability for Herts Optoms to sit their MECS OSCEs.
There is a train station within easy walking distance of the practice we are using – (Fenchurch Street line) plus there is simple parking nearby.
The cost is £135 each.
Any interested Optometrists are interested should email me, Sheila Purser, as soon as possible at chairman@essex-loc.org
- CCEHC’s Vision Screening Report
The College of Optometrists have issued a press statement, HERE, regarding The Clinical Council for Eye Health Commissioning (CCEHC)’s Vision Screening Report on post-vision screening, proposals and recommendations. The report itself can be downloaded from the College website, HERE. - EyeCare Electronic Referral Service (EeRS)
We have had a huge response to our early interest in EeRS form, thank you. We will be back in touch as we get more information about the launch from the NHS, when there will also be further opportunities to get involved. Watch this space! - Minimising Sight Loss: Overcoming the Obstacles Event
LOCSU advise “This is an online event on 1st July 2022, held by NHS England and NHS Improvement eye care pathways improvement programme, the National Eye Care Recovery and Transformation Programme (NECRTP).There is now a wide awareness that eye care is a high priority area, being the specialty with the highest hospital outpatient activity and undertaking the most common operation, cataract surgery.
