  2. CPD Requirements.

All registered practitioners are required to have completed at least 6 CPD points by the end of this year, 31st December. The points must have been added to your GOC CPD record by then, including any reflective statements or other requirements needed to have the points accepted. 4. CPD Webinar – Clinical Colour Vision Assessment

Hoya are running another CPD Webinar on Wednesday 26 October 2022 at 7:30 PM, on Clinical Colour Vision Assessment, presented by Dr Benjamin Evans. They say that the lecture will include:
“An overview of colour vision deficiencies, types of congenital and acquired colour vision deficiencies, and the pros and cons of different tests for community optometrists. This presentation will also include several case studies. After registering, you will receive a unique confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar, please do not share the confirmation email“.
Further details and registration can be found HERE.
  5. Wellbeing CPD.
Thanks to everyone who attended the recent Wellbeing CPD, run by Essex LOC. We are intending to run another session for those that were unable to register for the first, due to its popularity. Unfortunately, a significant number of practitioners did not attend the session and failed to notify us in advance, so we were unable to offer those places to the practitioners on the waiting list. Practitioners who did not attend and did not notify us are likely to be excluded from the next session and may not be able to join our future CPD sessions, especially where numbers are limited. We would also be grateful for any feedback attendees may have about the session, please email us at Admin@HertsLOC.org.uk
  6. FODO News

Is HERE, including including RNIB sight loss data tool updated, Royal College of Ophthalmologists reports concerns about ophthalmology workforce and free wellbeing support for you and your staff from the NHS. Their update from 14th October can be found HERE, including Specsavers’ State of the nation report, National TV advert raises awareness of macular disease, NHS England updates staff respect materials for eye care and Eye-care sector calls for digital imaging standardisation.
