CPD Event Knebworth, CPD Claims Window, PCSE Issues And FODO News

We have 4 items for you today:

1. CPD Event at Knebworth House 17th October 2023
   
   BiB are running a CPD Roadshow, “OCT Biometry and Myopia Management” on Tuesday 17th October. The event will start with an exhibition, registration, food and drink and a chance to network and mingle starting at 5, with the CPD sessions beginning at 7pm. BiB have kindly agreed that we, Hertfordshire LOC, can be there so we recommend getting there early in order to meet us and ask any questions you may have or find out more about the LOC. It will also be a chance to meet BiB, the other sponsors and other delegates. Further details and registration can be found at the bottom of this email. We look forward to seeing you there!
2. CPD claims window opening soon
   Primary Care Support England (PCSE) advise that the 2022-23 CPD claims window will open on Monday 3 July. We note that their email refers to it under its previous name of CET. They say: 

   “The CET claims window will remain open until Thursday 2 November however we encourage you to start your application for CET at the earliest opportunity.”

3. PCSE: Additional Payment Runs and Issues with Px Signatures
   Primary Care Support England have issued an update regarding the recent backlog and issues around online claims, HERE. 

   They have also advised:

   “To address the challenges associated with completing the patient signature box when processing backlog claims, we can confirm that a short code of 523 (short for May 2023) can be added to the patient signatory box in lieu of an actual signature. This must only be used for claims affected by the system outages where the patient was unable to sign the eligibility declaration.”

4. FODO News
   
   Is HERE, including The College has urged people not to put off sight tests, Clinical Alert about syphilis, and ACLM has published its Contact Lens Year Book online.
