Cataract Portal

A cataract portal is now available enabling you to enter post-op refraction data online.

Discharge letters from Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust (see example) will be sent out with a unique pin identifier for each patient.

To be included in the scheme each practice has to sign up with their NHS email, the registration process is explained in the letter from Tim Hunter from LTHT.

A power point presentation is also available explaining how to enter the patient post-op refraction data on Medisoft.

This is not compulsory but it is a huge step forward in primary and secondary care integration. It can also be delegated to other staff and saves filling in the audit form and posting it back. It will provide your NHS email to LTHT and will in time help with electronic feedback responses to your referrals.
