Equipment Grant
28 November 2022
The LOC held a meeting on 03/11/2022 to discuss the recent offer of £2000 per practice to go towards equipment for enhanced services. The committee discussed whether to stick strictly to the original offer or to give the grant unconditionally.
It was felt that, from a governance point of view, it would be simpler if the money was offered without condition. It was also felt that, as the LOC bank account is running to an excess, that some money should be given back to GOS contractors. It was pointed out that this surplus is partly due to previous committee members not claiming expenses. Therefore, the committee voted to donate £2000 to each practice without condition.
While this money is unconditional the committee recommend that it is spent on equipment that will facilitate involvement in enhanced schemes. The committee recognises that many practices have already purchased the equipment they need to allow for full involvement in local enhanced schemes and does not want to penalise these practices with a conditional offer. The committee has no current plans to provide more funding and if any practice requires extra equipment, they should use this opportunity to purchase what they need.
Practices who have not already applied must do so by 5pm on Friday the 9th of December 2022. Applications to be made to this email address. The money will be paid by the end of February 2023.
Kind regards
