URGENT: Please ensure you have completed Quality in Optometry

28 June 2024

Dear Colleagues – we have just received the following message from NHS England:

All contractors were asked to complete the Quality in Optometry questionnaire when it was reinstated in January 2023, following the pause during COVID.  The team made numerous communications with West Midlands contractors and further extended the time for completion to March 2024. Contractors were at this time advised of a deadline of 31 March 2024 and the possibility of sanctions should they fail to complete.

We now have a list of contractors that we intend to advise, by way of a remedial breach, that they have failed to meet their contractual obligation.  In order to remediate the breach contractors will have twenty-eight days from the date of the letter to provide a copy of their completed questionnaire to the team. Any contractor who fails to remediate a further sanction will be considered.
